In 2012 is uit DNA-onderzoek gebleken dat de kruisingen Cabernet-Dorsa en Cabernet-Dorio niet de Cabernet sauvignon als ouder hebben maar de Limberger. Een blauwe druif uit Franken die ook in de stamboom van de andere ouder van deze 'Neuzuchtungen' voorkomt nl. de Dornfelder. De Cabernet-Dorsa en Cabernet -Dorio hebben dus dezelfde ouders als de Acolon. Maar de naam Cabernet is commercieel interessanter. De Acolon mag uiteraard niet als "Cabernet" verkocht worden. Nu stelt zich de vraag of de Cabernet-Dorsa en -Dorio dit wel zullen gaan mogen blijven doen. "what's in a name".
